Kickstart your career in supply chain and logistics with NFI, an industry-leading third-party logistics provider! We are hiring a close-knit cohort of 3 to 6 Freight Brokers to join our U.S. Brokerage team together.
Instead of flying solo on day one, you’ll onboard, train, and grow alongside a team of peers. You’ll build your industry knowledge together, tackle real-world challenges as a team, and forge strong professional connections from day one.
As a Freight Broker, you’ll manage the full carrier lifecycle: sourcing, negotiating, and building long-term strategic partnerships that keep global supply chains moving.
Carrier Development: Research, select, and onboard carrier partners aligned with NFI’s standards. Build a reliable pipeline of targeted carriers and optimize network capacity to drive profitability.
Negotiation & Strategy: Negotiate spot and contractual rates, leverage market data to optimize margins, and make independent commercial decisions.
Operational Leadership: Manage daily load coverage, evaluate carrier performance analytics and KPIs, and solve supply chain challenges in real time.
Continuous Growth: Collaborate across sales and account management teams, contribute to business reviews, and leverage modern brokerage tech tools (TMS, data analytics, Excel) to streamline processes.
Education: Completed Bachelor’s Degree required (Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred).
High-Energy Communicator: Comfortable managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls (around 80–100 calls/day) to build rapport, negotiate rates, and seal deals with carriers.
Drive & Mindset: Highly motivated self-starter eager to master negotiation, financial acumen, and market dynamics.
Problem-Solving & Tech Skills: Strong analytical ability, quick decision-making under pressure, and comfort using Excel, TMS, and analytics tools.
Experience: Previous internship or 0–3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, phone sales, or customer service is a plus. We are fully prepared to train candidates with the right drive and grit!
Cohort Learning Model: Learn, collaborate, and succeed alongside a dedicated group of recent grads and early career professionals.
Clear Career Progression: Gain hands-on exposure to negotiation, account management, and logistics strategy. All key skills for rapid leadership growth.
Mentorship & Support: Learn directly from Capacity Directors and senior leadership who are invested in your professional development.
